With an ear for the commercially successful song, Dave has won the Grand Prize in the John Lennon songwriting contest twice…in 2013 (Electronica Category) and in 2009 (Country Category). He has written and produced over 150 songs for major motion pictures and television including Pretty Little Liars, Empire, Glee, Nashville, and CSI.
As an educator, Dave loves working with new artists and helping reach their potential. He has produced, engineered and written successful songs for 100s of independent and label artists covering all styles. Dave is an active voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammy Awards). He has worked and studied under engineering names such as Bruce Swedien and Neil Citron.
Dave has worked on the business side of the industry for Capitol Records, Warner Chappell Music, BMG Music Publishing and Capitol/EMI. Most recently, Dave serves as the host for The Producers Room with Dave Tough, a television program featuring music industry creators.
