Meet Tre Houston

Award Winning Hip-Hop Artist
Hailing from Houston, Texas, Tre Houston (Rowland W. Folensbee III) is an award-winning hip hop artist, writer, producer, and is a graduate from Belmont University with a degree in Music Business. Tre has been writing and producing music for well over a decade, performing in venues across the country with songs featured in numerous television shows and films.

Tre’s film and television credits include songs featured in Empire, Glee, House of Lies, Hemlock Grove, Remodeled, Plain Jane, Stalker, Rush, ABC Family’s movie Christmas Bounty, NBC and CBS sports programming, numerous commercials, and live performances in both seasons of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s HitRECord on TV. He recently performed in Los Angeles, California, at the Fonda Theater for the premiere of HitRECord on TV’s second season. Tre continues to push the creative envelope by demonstrating his talent through various genres. He recently co-wrote country artist Jeff Dane’s leading single, Apple Pie Moonshine, which was featured on WGN’s Outlaw Country.

Tre was a semi finalist in the International Songwriting Competition in both 2013 and 2015. He was nominated Endee Magazine’s Artist of the Week in April of 2013, and won Muse Magazine’s Club Song of the Year award for his song What Happened? (Movin’).

Tre currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where he continues to work on numerous musical projects. Some of these projects include the production of animated Sesame Street shorts with The Lonely Island, and is musically connected to renowned producers Dave Tough and Tyler Norris.
